The Tamar Estuary and Esk Rivers (TEER) are highly valued by the community for a range of social, environmental and economic values. The Tamar Estuary is fed by the North and South Esk River systems which drain approximately 15% of Tasmania. The TEER Program recognises the need for managing the waterways as a whole ecosystem from the upper catchment areas through to the coast.

The TEER Program was established in 2008 and is a regional partnership between NRM North and the Tasmanian Government, Launceston City Council, West Tamar Council, Meander Valley Council, George Town Council, Ben Lomond Water and Hydro Tasmania.

Our aim is to improve our scientific understanding of the issues impacting upon the health of the TEER waterways so that we can better identify and target priority areas requiring investment in on-ground works.

The 2011 TEER Report Card has been produced using a single year of monitoring data collected by the TEER Ecosystem Health Assessment Program (EHAP).
Use the app to view the report card for each of the TEER Zones, ranging for the mouth of the Tamar down to the upper estuary near Launceston where the Tamar, South Esk and North Esk Rivers meet.
