What PhotoPuzzle will you add to your Gallery?
Multi-player and multi-levels to grow with your student!
Whimsically illustrated with original hand-drawn animals and shapes, theGames app exposes your child to multiple mathematical problem solving approaches in the areas of counting, geometry, patterns, addition, subtraction and comparisons in a fun, but to-the-point format.
Practicing Math is the main activity in this app!
As a parent or teacher, you are able to decide which topics each child will work on, as well as at what level. As the child answers questions correctly, he or she automatically moves on to more advanced questions. You are also able to easily monitor his or her progress through the topics, and adjust as needed.
Rest assured that the content of theGames: Kindergarten is aligned with the critical areas of instruction outlined in the CCSS:
(1) representing, relating, and operating on whole numbers, initially with sets of objects
(2) describing shapes and space.
Your child will be actively engaging in these topics at an appropriate academic development level, moving towards a conceptual understanding of key ideas and structures within the study of mathematics.

*****theGames provides a multi-level problem solving app environment with the goal of UNDERSTANDING math****
The unique game-play in theGames series of educational apps is designed to allow the student player to self-check his or her answers. This encourages important Critical Thinking Skills, such as the key points described in the National Research Council's report, Adding It Up: adaptive reasoning, strategic competence, conceptual understanding, procedural fluency and a productive disposition. All applicable to diverse life situations.
A specific mathematical topic, such as counting how many of an object, or addition with tally marks, is covered with a set of questions and answers within a puzzle solving session. Presenting this set of 9 questions and answers per game creates a delayed gratification opportunity and allows the student to learn from his or her mistakes. With all the possible answers visible, he or she can determine if a previous answer was a mistake and change his/her answer to make the whole puzzle work. Therefore, they can independently self-check and re-enforce the skills learned by successfully answering the set of questions correctly.
Your Kindergarten aged child will be motivated to collect reward squares to reveal a colorful PhotoPuzzle for his or her Gallery. Check our Facebook page for photo contests. . . your nature photo may be selected to be included in the app!
