Three "Little" Pigs (and the Big Bad Bully)
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
Pigs aren’t little
Yet the Big Bad Wolf insists on calling our pig friends “little” in order to tease them about their size… Because he thinks they’re fat. This classic tale has been reimagined with positive messages and plenty of teachable moments designed to help parents talk with their kids about teasing and bullying. As our three “little” pig friends match wits with the Big Bad Wolf, parents can reference special tips to encourage a conversation around empathy and compassion. Are there children in your child’s school who are different and get teased or bullied?
This special Lite version of the Three “Little” Pigs by Nurturing Tales allows you to enjoy the first part of the story, the associated parent tips and a sample from the special parents section.
Two books in one
For the kids, we’ve created an engaging story designed exclusively for the iPad… More than 30 pages filled with beautiful illustrations, a few hidden interactive elements, and select animation to enhance – and not distract – from the story.
And for parents, wouldn’t it be great if we had the time to turn the story’s we share with our children into teachable moments? Throughout our Nurturing Tale we’ve included tips on how you can discuss specific scenes and connect them with a valuable lesson.
But wait, there’s more!
There’s a special Parents Section at the end of the story, which summarizes my research on teasing and bullying used in the development of the app. While bullying isn’t an epidemic in pre- or early-grade school, this information will help children build their social skills and be amazingly useful as our kids grow older.
