Application Description
Estimate helps you to compute a PERT Three Point Estimation.
Three Point Estimation is a technique used in program management to estimate the duration of a task. You provide three values (the best, the most likely, and the worst) and Estimates computes the expected value and the 10%-90% Interval.
Here’s an example: If I drive to a business partner it most likely take 2h. If all the lights turn green, I guess it may takes me just 1h 30 min. If there is heavy traffic or even a traffic jam I guess it takes me 4h to get to my business meeting.
Using these three guesses Estimate will tell me that I should expect a average travel time of 2.2h to get there. Estimates also tell me, that If I want to be on time (in 90% of all cases) I should leave ~3h before the meeting starts.
