Tolerance Calculator
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
“Tolerance Calculator” is a great tool for any design engineer or engineering student to perform dimension tolerance stack-up, ISO fit and custom fit calculations. You can create stack-ups with linear and RSS evaluation and store, edit, or share them with your colleagues via e-mail. You get the most complete calculation for ISO fit tolerances as well as the option to calculate any custom fit. All the modules provide the option to switch between “mm” and “inch” for easier information exchange between users from different countries. There is also an information section included with detailed descriptions on how to use the tools.
List of Key Features for each module:
Stack-Up:
• Calculate Stack-Ups with an unlimited number of dimensions.
• Convert units between “mm” and “inch”.
• Output of results as linear or RSS evaluation. Results include Nominal Value (Mean for RSS), upper tolerance, lower tolerance, max., and min. values.
• Create unlimited number of stack-ups and save them on your device (only limited by storage space on your device).
• Share stackup results with colleagues, suppliers, and customers via e-mail.
• Stack-up results can be imported on your computer as text files for further use in other programs.
• Simply save the stackup files on your computer for archiving and send them via e-mail to your mobile device as needed.
ISO Fit:
• All calculations are based on ISO 286
• Ø range is between 1 and 500 mm (0.03937 and 19.685072 inch)
• Tolerance ranges are from “a” to “zc” (shaft) and “A” to “ZC” (bore).
• Tolerance grades are from 1 to 16 with 1 being the tightest tolerance.
• Some tolerance ranges start at a certain Ø and some tolerance grades are not available for certain tolerance ranges. The calculator will indicate the min. required Ø and automatically go to the next valid tolerance grade as applicable.
• Calculation of min. and max. tolerances based on Ø and ISO tolerance selection.
• Calculation of clearances and/or interferences.
• Graphical illustration of the results (not to scale and only visual aid).
• Convert units between “mm” and “inch”.
Custom Fit:
• Separate input of shaft Ø with tolerances and bore Ø with tolerances.
• Calculation of clearances and/or interferences.
• Graphical illustration of the results (not to scale and only visual aid).
• Convert units between “mm” and “inch”.
• Can be used as an easy and quick tool to convert dimensions between “mm” and “inch”.
Info:
• Detailed description for each tool on what it does and how to use it.
