Tracks
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
A GPS tracking utility for photographers, recreational hikers, bikers, joggers and outdoor enthusiasts to use to track their outdoor activities.
Users can record and save sessions for later review along with any photographs taken during the activity.
Saved Tracks can be uploaded to Google's Fusion tables in KML format and users can then select photos to upload to Picassa. Photos uploaded to Picassa are also added as annotations to the Fusion table.
Your tracks can also be imported and exported as GPX files using iTunes file sharing or email. Exported tracks are can be used to geotag photographs taken with your DSLR or other camera.
You can select an existing or imported route to display while recording a new activity. Retrace your route or learn new trails by importing sessions and displaying them while recording.
Tracks fully supports multi-tasking by continuing to record your sessions in the background. Please be aware that:
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Tracks does allow you to configure GPS accuracy to manage power consumption, with higher accuracy demanding more power than lower accuracy.
•Easy to use interface for recording your activities.
•Built in camera feature for taking snapshots while recording.
•Once saved you can review your activities and see pins where photos were taken.
•Tap a pin to see a pop-up preview of the photo.
•Tap the photo preview to launch the built in photo viewer to scroll through all photos taken during that activity.
•Import and export saved activities as GPX files using Email or iTunes sharing.
•Exported session data can be used by photo geotagging applications such as Aperture, Lightroom (with plugin) and many others to tag photos taken with an external camera with location data.
•Upload saved sessions to Google’s Fusion Tables to share on the web.
•After saving to Fusion Tables, activity photos can be uploaded to Picassa.
•Uploaded photos will appear as previews on your Fusion Table Map view.
•Tap the screen while recording or reviewing to bring up statistics and charts of your speed and altitude.
•Tap an area of the chart to center the map and drop a pin at the corresponding location.
