Application Description
What do you do when you hear the campus siren? What do you do in an active shooter situation? What happens when there’s a tornado warning? The UMD SOS (Stop. Observe. Seek Information) app is a reference guide for emergency situations intended for University of Maryland residents, students, staff and faculty. When you hear the campus sirens, receive emergency text alerts from UMD, or encounter a hazardous situation, you can use the UMD SOS app to guide you through various incidents. This app is a one of many ways to prepare for emergency incidents.

Latest Alerts: View latest alerts issued by the UMD emergency notification system (alert.umd.edu).
What to Do: List of various emergency situations and information on “what to do” for each incident.
