The concept and implementation
We, the makers of the Wimmel app, grew up with the famous Wimmelbilderbücher, or “teeming picture books”. Because nowadays even the very young are fascinated by new electronic media, the idea of transferring this valuable educational childhood memory to a modern medium practically suggested itself. This medium is characterised in particular by its tangibility and simple handling.
In implementing the Wimmel app we paid special attention to a very natural and “real” adaptation of the Wimmel pictures. The illustrations were drawn and coloured by hand – in the good old-fashioned manner.
