หนังสือเสริมการเรียนรู้การออกแบบและเทคโนโลยีนี้ จัดทำขึ้นสำหรับครูเพื่อใช้ประกอบการจัดการเรียนการรู้สาระการออกแบบและ ซึ่งเป็นสาระที่ 2 ใน กลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้การงานอาชีพและเทคโนโลยีตามหลักสูตรแกนกลางการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน พุทธศักราช 2551 โดยมีสาระสำคัญประกอบด้วยภาพรวมของเทคโนโลยี ทั้งบทบาทของครูผู้สอน แนวความคิดหลักของเทคโนโลยี ความเป็นมาของการออกแบบและเทคโนโลยีของต่างประเทศและในประเทศไทย ความเกี่ยวข้องระหว่างมนุษย์และเทคโนโลยี ธรรมชาติของเทคโนโลยี กระบวนการเทคโนโลยี และการใช้เทคโนโลยี

This supplementary book, Design and Technology, is intended for teachers to plan instruction for the design and technology subject, which is the second sub-strand of the strand called Occupations and Technology. The content of learning follows the core curriculum for basic education in B.E.2551. The book consists of concepts and principles of technology, teachers’ roles, histories of the design and technology in the world and Thailand, the relation between technology and people, the nature of technology, technological process, and the use of technology.
