Detailed App Info:
Application Description
ART ESSENTIALS - In this series:
Van Gogh, Manet, Monet, Degas, Gauguin, Rembrandt.
Edouard Manet (1832 –1883), French painter and printmaker, is considered to be the father of Impressionism. His painting Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe (Luncheon on the Grass) exhibited in 1863 at the Salon des Refusés in Paris, aroused the hostility of the critics and the enthusiasm of a group of young painters who later formed the group of the Impressionists. Because of his approach to modern-life subjects, Manet is regarded to be a key figure in the transition from Realism to modern art.
This book is an essential source of information about Monet's art and life, and features some of the painter's unmissable masterpieces, together with complete information about date, techniques, current location or museum; each painting is also accompanied with details and comments by the famous critic Camille Mauclair.
All the paintings are reproduced in high resolution, and can be panned and zoomed.
