Described as “sexy, soulful, genuine, and edgy” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian, Orth’s live performance is captivating. She has headlined many reputable venues in the Bay Area, including Slim’s, Great American Music Hall, Bottom of the Hill, Café Du Nord, The New Parish, and Yoshi’s San Francisco Jazz Club, as well as Tin Angel and World Café Live in Philadelphia, The Living Room in NYC, and One Longfellow Square in Portland, Maine. She has played several self-booked tours in the U.S., has made tour stops in Puerto Rico and St. Thomas, and has played festivals such as SXSW and Harmony Festival.
Orth is one of the hardest-working musicians in the Bay Area and has had great success building her fanbase. From October 2009 to March 2012, her e-newsletter recipients nearly tripled. FanBridge, one of the most popular fan-management online platforms, recognized the exponential growth and named Orth “Artist of the Day” in 2011.
Viewing music as a healing power unlike any other, Orth plays regularly at juvenile halls, homeless shelters, and drug rehabilitation centers. After an emotional performance at San Francisco’s Youth Guidance Center, one of the teenage girls in the juvenile hall relayed her admiration for Orth, saying, “I will remember this for the rest of my life.”
