Application Description
Experience the rich cultural history and landscapes as you explore Jenolan Trails.
With the starting point of each walk being the Guide’s Office, you will take three distinct routes away from Jenolan’s historic village. Within the app there are three separate trails:
“The Shaping Waters”, a walk to the Carlotta Arch, examines the formation of the landscape and cave system.
“The Healing Waters”, a walk up McKeon’s Valley examines the Aboriginal cultural heritage of the Jenolan area.
“The Working Waters”, a walk along the Jenolan River, discusses the Jenolan area post European settlement with a focus upon the engineering and tourism history.
Visitors should allow an hour for each of the three walks, and ensure that they carry plenty of water especially in summer. Although each walk is along formed track, visitors should also be aware that the track can be of an uneven nature and that fallen tree branches and areas of recent weather driven erosion can be encountered.
This project was made possible through Destination NSW’s 2011/12 Regional Tourism Product Development Program which provided the funding for development of these trails.
