These videos focus on how to help your child or infant, should they suffer from different forms of burns. Each form of burn is described in detail separately. The videos are designed to either refresh your knowledge or to teach.

Burns and scalds are the most common cause of preventable injury with almost all accidents happening in and around the home with over half of these injuries occurring to children under the age of 4. A burn injury usually results from an energy transfer to the body caused by thermal, radiation, chemical, or electrical contact. In evaluating the type of first aid treatment appropriate for a burn, you must first distinguish if it is a minor burn or a serious burn. Then determine the source, degree and the extent of damage of the burn to the body’s tissues.
