Revival 1st Aid Videos
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
A series of videos with voice-over describing the correct first aid procedures and techniques to help your child after an accident. These videos focus on how to help your child or infant, should they be choking or have gone into shock. Each form of bite is described in detail separately. The videos are designed to either refresh your knowledge or to teach.
The subjects covered in this App are:
- Choking Child
- Choking Infant
- Treatment for Shock
When foreign objects such as food or liquid get lodged in the windpipe, rather than the esophagus, it can become blocked and cut off the vital air flow to the lungs. Usually in these instances we are able to expel the object by coughing but this is sometimes not the case in young infants or children. But if your child or infant is coughing weakly or is unable to make normal sounds and breathe, and their face starts to turn from red to blue, then this is a sign of choking. You must act immediately otherwise they could loose consciousness and you will have to start CPR.
Shock is a life threatening condition associated with a serious injury or illness. If your child or infant has gone into shock they will require immediate medical attention in order to prevent the onset of organ failure or even death.
The videos have been developed in conjunction with and supported by the leading first aid and pediatric specialists from around the world including the world famous Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and St. John Ambulance.
